Meat Alternatives

  • I’ve noticed a lot of recipes that call for turkey, beef. chicken that I’d love to try but don’t eat meat (I do eat fish and appreciate the seafood-focused recipes); what is the stance on meat alternatives once we have completed P20? Are there some brands to be cautious of vs. others that are better options?

  • Hi Brandy!
While meat alternatives like Boca and Beyond are certainly convenient, we recommend sticking to whole food protein sources as much as possible. Lentils, beans, nuts, seeds, quinoa, organic soybeans (tofu and edamame, in moderation), peas, and even whole grains are good sources of protein. If you choose to include dairy after P20, that can also be a good source of protein. You can even try nutritional yeast and spirulina! Let me know if you have any other questions or if there are specific brands you have questions about 🙂
