Snack Time! Oh…and I want another SNACK!

  • Hi P20ers!

How is everything feeling as they start week TWO?! Based on past programs this is typically the time when the sugar cravings start to decrease…and some of the new habits/recipes start to feel a little easier. We’ve also heard that snacking between meals can be a point of stress for some so please let us know how we can help.

Need ideas? Here are some of my favorite snacks that I grab on the regs…
    – Hummus and raw veggies
    – Fresh fruit and a handful of nuts (currently can’t get enough of cashews)
    – Avocado or nut butter on a rice cake
    – Smoothie (we’ve got lots of great recipes!)
    – Two dates (pit removed) stuffed with nut butter (for when I need something sweet)
    – Olives

    Any other ideas/recommendations?! Please share!

  • Just wanted to piggyback on olives and specify that while I love Kalamata (and feel like they’re super-easy to find), my love for olive-snacking really took off when I discovered Castelvetrano. Especially from the olive bar (vs. jarred). So buttery and delicious!!

  • Thanks for sharing! You can even make yourself a PN-friendly charcuterie by pairing a variety of olives, almonds, walnuts, some high quality nitrate-free meats, and gluten-free crackers! Sip on kombucha or soda water with lime for a P20-approved happy hour!

  • I have really been into guacamole with bell peppers or cucumber. Those veggies provide me some crunch so I don’t miss a chip.

  • It’s the being at home all the time instead of in the office that’s hard. Feel like I’m snacking more and more on things like the banana bread recipe!

  • I am *pretty* sure these would be PN-approved (tell me if not!), but I love Trader Joe’s unsweetened coconut chips on occasion. A little goes a LONG way. I sometimes have them with a small amount of fresh berries to make the berry snack more substantial and filling, if I’m looking for a “sweet” snack.

  • Elizabeth: Yes, those are GREAT options and definitely P20-approved. Nice work 🙂

Tracy: The banana bread recipe is so yummy! Hopefully some of the other suggestions in this thread will give you ideas if you are running out of options.

    Enjoy your weekend!!
