Tahini Oat Cookie Issue

  • I just tried to make the tahini oat cookies and despite cooking for a few minutes longer than recommended these remain very un-cookie like in form and can’t be picked up or eaten without a spoon. Any suggestions?

  • Hello! Sorry to hear that you had an issue with the recipe. Did you make any substitutions? Did you grind the oats yourself or buy oat flour? Perhaps you could try adding more oat flour next time around. Also, ovens tend to cook differently so you could also try leaving them in longer. Let me know…happy to help troubleshoot! If you don’t want to waste what you’ve made, you could mash them up with a spoon in a bowl and eat like oatmeal! 🙂

  • Christina, I have been eating them mashed up (still tasty). I think for some reason I just had too much wet ingredients for some reason. I didn’t make any adjustments and ground my own oat flour, but could have maybe balanced out some. Thanks for the help.

  • Happy to hear you are still able to enjoy them in an unconventional way! They are so nutrient dense that it makes mashed up cookies for breakfast a fun treat! 🙂

  • I added additional almond flour until they dough similar to playdough. They easily formed into little balls and I kept them in the oven quite a while — until they were all golden. I also skipped the wire rack and let them cool on the pan. They were REALLY good. I’m making them again later this week, for sure!
