Garlic Green Beans

  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 red onions small, diced
  • 1 1⁄2 lbs green beans de-stemmed and cut into 2" pieces
  • 1⁄4 cup water
  • 1 lemon juiced + zest
  • 1⁄4 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • sea salt to taste
  • freshly ground pepper to taste
  • In a large skillet or saucepan, add olive oil and onion over medium heat. Saute for about 4-5 minutes, then add the garlic and cook for another 3 minutes.
  • Add the green beans and the water and cook over medium heat, stirring every 5 minutes for 15-20 minutes, or until the beans are tender.
  • Season with lemon juice, zest, red pepper flakes, sea salt and freshly ground pepper.
