Hi Marisa, Such a good question and you are not alone in dealing with hypoglycemia. There is so much information out there that it can get overwhelming to sort through what is right versus wrong particularly when it comes to carbohydrates. What is boils down to is a deficiency of glucose in the bloodstream which can lead to diabetes down the road if not dealt with now. The good news is that you can overcome it and feel GREAT! Congrats on taking the first step! What we would recommend is to primarily focus on your protein, healthy fats and vegetable intake at each meal. Proteins and healthy fats will keep you satiated AND keep your blood sugar balanced. Fill the majority of your plate with a protein, veggies and a healthy fat…you can add in a small serving of rice/sweet potatoes/quinoa if you’d like as well. We try to not use labels but yes, a “paleo” type diet would be helpful for hypoglycemia. Does this help? Feel free to ask more questions if you’d like…we are here to help! Keep us posted on how you are feeling!
